Gawad Lasallianeta Honors ABS-CBN with Hall Of Fame Award
ABS-CBN bagged a total of 19 awards, including the Hall of Fame award for winning Most Outstanding Media Company for five consecutive years, at the 7th Gawad Lasallianeta Awards held at De La Salle Araneta University (DLSAU) on 27 January. Veteran broadcast journalist Rico Hizon received the Green Zeal for Excellence award—the highest honor given by the DLSAU to outstanding Lasallian communicators. Box-office queen Kathryn Bernardo also emerged as a big winner, claiming the Most Influential Celebrity and Most Outstanding Film Actress awards. “Hello, Love, Again” also won the Most Outstanding Filipino Film. Meanwhile, the top-rating noontime show, “It’s Showtime,” was named Most Outstanding Variety Show, while its host, Vice Ganda, received the award for Most Outstanding Variety Show Host. Argus Aspiras also took home the Most Outstanding Child Star award for his role as Riley Aguerro in the series “High Street.” Donny Pangilinan was named the Most Outstanding Actor in a Drama Series for his portrayal of Andrei ‘Bingo’ Mariano in “Can’t Buy Me Love.” Jodi Sta. ABS-CBN News was recognized as the Most Outstanding Online News Media while its flagship news program, “TV Patrol,” received the award for Most Outstanding News Show.
Veteran broadcast journalists Doris Bigornia and Alvin Elchico also received the Most Outstanding Digital Radio Show and Broadcasters award while ABS-CBN reporter Pia Gutierrez took home the Most Outstanding Female News Correspondent award.
Gawad Lasallianeta, DLSAU’s premier awards ceremony, celebrates outstanding media and public communication professionals in the industry. A university-wide survey conducted among administrators, staff, faculty members, parents, and students determine the awardees for each category.
