A Las Vegas Sushi Restaurant Closes as a Chinatown Favorite Moves into the Casino
Boathouse Asian Eatery. | Amelinda B Lee China Mama is opening inside a casino for the first time with its new location On the heels of Lindo Michoacan’s expansion into the Palace Station casino, Chinatown favorite China Mama is taking up residence in the central Las Vegas casino, moving into the space currently occupied by Boathouse Asian Eatery. Boathouse’s last day of service will be Sunday, September 1. The family-owned China Mama earned a following for its Americanized Chinese and traditional Chinese dishes, its steamed pork buns stuffed with pork and broth a standout on a menu of soup dumplings and mapo tofu. The original China Mama on Jones Boulevard closed following a fire in March of last year. In May 2023, the takeout-only China Mama Express opened on Rainbow Boulevard and China Mama reopened a month later in Shanghai Plaza in Chinatown. This past June, the higher-end Spring by China Mama debuted at 4480 Paradise Road Suite 700A with bold decor and lavish presentations of wraps, Beijing duck, and mixed vegetables for assembling lao chang spring wraps.
